Producers of the
Denver International Western/English Apparel & Equipment Market
The Western & English Sales Association (WESA) was organized in 1921, under the corporate name Men’s Apparel Club of Colorado. These WESA founders launched an initial trade show in Denver in January 1922, with the goal of creating a forum where retailers, manufacturers, and sales representatives could conduct business in an atmosphere of fair trade and fellowship. The resulting Denver International Western/English Apparel & Equipment Markets are the world’s largest trade events for the Equestrian Industry, attracting a constantly growing global audience to Denver’s world-class Markets.
Manufactures and sales representatives comprise WESA’s Association, uniting a national and international membership, more than 1,000 strong. As a non-profit member-directed trade association, WESA members are dedicated to the continued maintenance and expansion of the Denver Markets as premier trade shows. WESA’s Markets, located in the heart of the West, both by heritage and geography, fulfill a business legacy. Industry members meet successfully, year after year, at the two Denver trade shows, stimulating a constantly improving venue, binging thousands of diverse products and individuals into an “industry” – WESA’s membership is the common denominator for the industry.
Denver is where the Industry meets. WESA trade shows boast record-breaking retail attendance from a national and international audience. WESA uses extensive trade advertising, direct mail and international media campaigns to bring retailers to Denver twice a year to buy product for their stores. Enhanced by the supportive advertising of its membership and their companies, the Denver Markets are regarded as the single-sourcing entity for more than 2,500 product lines, bringing more than 7,000 retailers to the Denver Markets each year. WESA also serves as a source for information and education for retailers and exhibitor, bringing sold business and lifestyle expertise to the trade, through Market seminars and demonstrations.
WESA also extends continuing support to the larger equestrian industry through yearly scholarship programs for National Little Britches Rodeo (NLBRA), National High School Rodeo (NHSRA) and Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH). The WESA Open Benefit Golf Tournament, in conjunction with WESA’s September Market, brings 100 supporters together for a day of Industry networking and funding for these Associations and others, including Western Endowment Trust (WESTrust), and the Urban Farm.
